If you need to relocate so that your house can be more like a home, then give us a call. But as we enter the holiday seasons at our doorstep, consider making those people who live and enter your home the highest priority.
Seasonal Maintance
As we approach the winter season, keep these tips in mind for maintaining your home.
1. Change your furnace filter: Maximize efficiency of your furnace and minimize heating expenses.
2. Request a home energy assessment: If your utility company offers a free energy assessment, take them up on it. They can not only assist you in improving your energy consumption, but may also offer free to reduced cost products.
3. Caulk or weatherstrip windows and doors: It’s an inexpensive way to lower drafts and avoid potential water damage to your home’s structures.
4. Clean refrigerator and freezer drip pans and vacuum coils: An often ignored but easy way to improve appliance efficiency and avoid potential floor damage.
5. Ensure outdoor electrical decoration connections are tight (and only use outdoor rated decorations): No one wants to get shocked or have any fires.
6. Clean kitchen exhause hood and filters: Your stove will likely be utilized more frequently during the holidays.
7. Check your water heater: Make sure isn’t leaking and consider installing a leak detector, which can be WiFi/mobile app compatible. Leaks could be from your water heater, sump pump overflow or thawing snow. It’s much cheaper to deal with possible water damage caught early
